What the Ottawa Senators players did with their week off
A little thought experiment about what players would’ve done over the break
It’s been a bit of a slow week for fans of the Ottawa Senators, because the team is on its NHLPA-mandated five days off. People tend to do lots of things with time off: travel, golf, sleep, travel to golf, and the like. But what do you do if you’re a professional athlete with a large budget? Well, I definitely don’t know, but here’s a guess about some of the players.
Erik Karlsson - visit the Virgin British Islands, Crete, and Fiji, all while doing handstand pushups for local media
Marc Methot - lounged by some pool in a shirt without sleeves
Derick Brassard - spent his time not DJing
Andrew Hammond - was going to watch the World Juniors on TV, but pulled his groin on the way to the couch
Curtis Lazar - smiled
Jean-Gabriel Pageau - spent four days trying to figure out what new tattoo to get, finally settled on just his eleven favourites
Mark Stone - spent his time ordering from local restaurants to keep up his takeaway numbers
Kyle Turris - ate some cheesecake
Fredrik Claesson - spent the break in the press box
Chris Kelly - went on a Caribbean cruise for free because they could use him as an anchor
Chris Wideman - went to Midway with Cody Ceci and beat him in every game, only to see Ceci take home a much larger stuffed animal
Bobby Ryan - repeatedly searched for his name on Twitter, looking for trolls to make fun of
Chris Neil - did a bunch of takes of his latest Oil Changers ad
Tom Pyatt - did Guy Boucher’s cooking, cleaning, laundry, and groceries twice (instead of his usual once per week)
Mark Borowiecki - took his dog on another walk to sniff out bloggers
Have any other good ones? Let me know in the comments!
