Zack Stortini Signs 2 Year Deal

The Senators Organization added some toughness as Zack Stortini inks a new 2 year, 2 way deal it was announced on Wednesday.

The Binghamton Senators got a little tougher as Ottawa has announced the signing of big bad Zack Stortini to a two-year, two-way contract that has raised some eyebrows for many BSens fans. The deal brings the Senators pest to an end as he will most likely fill the role of departing Darren Kramer.

The 29 year old 6' 4" forward has been a thorn to Binghamton teams over the last several years including last season playing in 76 games for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms recording 13 goals along with 12 assists, both pro career highs and 184 PIM. In 2013-'14 Stortini had a career high 299 PIM playing for the Norfolk Admirals which featured him taking part in 33 fights including two with Mike Sdao and David Dziurzynski along with Kramer.

Sdao and Storts would meet up for two more times including this one last Dec.

Binghamton has some major beef to deal with as they will be busy protecting new prospects as well as current ones with Stortini joining not only Sdao, but Guillaume Lepine, Max McCormick and rookie Vincent Dunn. Zack has played in 257 NHL games mostly spending time with the Edmonton Oilers and could provide a boost if Ottawa is ever in need of some muscle.
